She starred in the dramas Fathers and Daughters (2016) and First Reformed (2017), and the crime comedy Gringo (2018).

2018 Amanda Seyfried as Sophie Sheridan in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again

It is a follow-up to the 2008 film “Mamma Mia!”, which in turn is based on the West End/Broadway musical of the same name using the music of ABBA. Its the plot is set after the events of Mamma Mia!, and also features flashbacks to 1979, telling the story of Donna Sheridan’s arrival on the island of Kalokairi and her first meetings with her daughter Sophie’s three possible fathers.

Amanda played Sophie, Donna’s 25-year-old daughter and Ruby’s granddaughter.

It stars Ethan Hawke, Amanda Seyfried, and Cedric the Entertainer (credited as Cedric Kyles), and follows a Protestant minister faced with questions of faith and morality while serving as pastor of a dwindling historical church. Elements of the plot and Hawke’s character are inspired by the novel “The Diary of a Country Priest”, by French writer Georges Bernanos, adapted into a 1951 French-language film of the same name. Seyfried played a pregnant widow and parishioner at First Reformed.
